Perapera-kun

There are a lot of programs that can help you with your study of Japanese language.
One of them is Perapera-kun. It's an add-on for Mozilla Firefox.

When you hover over a kanji or a word written in hiragana or katakana, it gives you the meaning of the word in a blue cloud.

For instance, here is what it says for the title of this blog:

済みません すみません (int,uk,pol) sorry; excuse me; thank you; (P)
頑張る がんばる (v5r,vi) to persist; to insist on; to stand firm; to try one's best; (P)

And this is what it says for びんぼう (binbou)
貧乏 びんぼう (adj-na,n) poverty; destitute; poor; (P)

As you can see, you'll have to know at least hiragana.
